The Saldahna Bay area in South African intensively used for aquaculture, however, the area also suffers from Harmful blooms (HABs), destroying the harvest.
In a project together with AtlanticRoyal we are setting up an Early warning system, to allow shellfish farmers to harvest before a toxic bloom, by combining Earth Observation based maps, automated high frequent in situ optical measurements and held-held measurements for validation.
