Water Insight has, together with the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM), Bakkenist and Zomer Innovationmanagement, and the Estonian Tartu Observatory, exported her services concerning optical water quality measurements to Estonia. Field experiments were carried out to fine tune the algorithms to Baltic conditions. Marnix joined a Tartu Observatory cruise of Lakes Peipsi and Vortsjarv in 2008, taking optical measurements. The IVM adjusted the existing algorithms to local characteristics, enabling accurate optical chlorophyll and suspended particulate modelling. This project is aided by the Dutch Partners for Water Programme. The project has been carried out between June 2008 to September 2009. The first WISP-3 spectrometer was handed over to Tartu Observatory in August 2009 during the Baltic Sea Conference.
